The answer

Masturbation is forbidden, and abandoning it is repentance from sins. Those who repent are promised goodness, sustenance, and success in this world and the hereafter, as Allah Almighty says: "And O my people, ask forgiveness of your Lord and then repent to Him. He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in showers and add strength to your strength, and do not turn away as criminals" [Hud: 52], and His saying: "And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed" [An-Nur: 31]. Sins are the cause of calamities, and abandoning them repels affliction. Moreover, "whoever leaves something for Allah, Allah will compensate him with something better." Abandoning masturbation is a form of preserving one's chastity, and Islamic law has promised a great reward for it. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever guarantees me what is between his two jaws (his mouth) and what is between his two legs (his private parts), I guarantee him Paradise."
