What is the location where devils eavesdrop before and after the Prophet Muhammad's mission, peace be upon him? And was it from the lowest heaven before the mission and then from the clouds afterwards? And were there no meteorites burning them before the mission?

The eavesdropping of devils, before and after the Prophethood, occurred from the clouds, not from the built firmament. Scholars have differed regarding the occurrence of being pelted with meteors before the Prophethood, and many exegetes have favored its occurrence before then, citing verses and hadiths. However, they clarified that this pelting and guarding intensified and became more rigorous after the Prophethood of the Prophet, peace be upon him, to the extent that the devils became unable to eavesdrop on anything.
