To what extent is the narration sound which states that Asma bint Abi Bakr complained to her father about Al-Zubayr hitting her, whereupon he said to her: "My dear daughter, be patient, for Al-Zubayr is a righteous man, and perhaps he will be your husband in Paradise; and it has reached me that if a man marries a woman when she is a virgin, he will marry her in Paradise"? And are there other chains of narration for it?

Ibn al-Arabi, Al-Qurtubi, and Ibn Kathir mentioned a narration from Ibn Wahb, from Malik, stating that Malik said: "Al-Zubayr married Asma bint Abi Bakr, and he stipulated to her that he would not strike her with a whip. So he began to strike her with a stick. When a child was born to him, he said: 'Is this how childbirth is?'"

This narration was described as ghareeb (uncommon/strange), and no other chain of transmission for it is known. Moreover, those who narrated it from Malik did not mention where they obtained it from, especially considering that Malik did not live to meet Asma. It is also unlikely that such an action would emanate from Al-Zubayr, who was known for his piety and devoutness. Even if it were authentic concerning him, it should not be emulated, for the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad, peace be upon him.
