Is what is narrated about Al-Zubayr ibn Al-Awwam true concerning his merciless beating of his wives, his tying up and beating two of them, Umm Kulthum's desire to divorce him due to his violence, and his hatred for his wife Atiqah and his harassment of her to prevent her from going to the mosque, and how can he be like that when he is one of the ten promised Paradise?

Al-Zubayr ibn al-Awwam, who was one of the ten promised Paradise, was somewhat strict in his treatment of his wives, but it was tolerable and excusable, as evidenced by the patience of his wife Asma bint Abi Bakr. Although the guidance of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was gentler in treatment, Al-Zubayr's strictness did not make him an oppressor. As for the widely circulated story about him preventing his wife Atikah from going to the mosque, it is not authentically reported due to the unknown status of some narrators and the discontinuity of the chain of transmission. It is necessary to maintain a sound heart towards the Companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, whom Allah and His Messenger praised.
