The answer

Obedience to parents is obligatory in what is good, and compelling a child to specialize in something they dislike is not considered good. Therefore, if you want to transfer to a specialization in sciences or other permissible sciences, this is permissible and not considered disobedience. However, if you want to abandon formal education altogether and you do not have enough to sustain yourself, then it is obligatory to obey your father in not abandoning formal education, while also learning the necessary amount of Sharia knowledge. Be cautious that your desire to seek Sharia sciences is not a trick to escape formal education.
