Is it permissible to refer to "Ruqyah Shariah" (Islamic incantation/exorcism) by the different types of Jinn, such as "Ruqyah Shariah for the infatuated jinn possession"? And is it permissible to exercise ijtihad (independent reasoning) in Ruqyah Shariah?

For Ruqyah to be legitimate, it must meet certain conditions: it must be performed with the Quran, or with the remembrance of Allah (Dhikr), and legitimate supplications; it should be in the Arabic language for those who are able; its meaning must be understandable; and both the reciter (Raqui) and the one being recited upon (Marqi) must believe that Ruqyah is merely a means that takes effect by the permission of Allah Almighty. If these conditions are met, then Ruqyah is legitimate, even if it is specialized for a particular illness. Audio recordings of Ruqyah do not suffice as a substitute for direct Ruqyah, because the original practice involves direct recitation with blowing (nafth) and rubbing the painful area. However, it is hoped that there0 is no harm in listening to them out of necessity when a reciter is not available.
