Is it permissible for the illiterate to read the Mus'haf?

There is no harm in reciting the Quran and dedicating its reward to a living or deceased person, whether that person used to recite the Quran during their lifetime or not. For the living, in their benefit from supplication, recitation, and the like, are similar to the deceased.
