Is a divorced woman obligated to help her ex-husband, who is an addict, especially if it is during the daytime in Ramadan or if the money will be used to buy alcohol, and is she to be blamed for refusing to do so?

One who squanders on sins and grave transgressions is not to be aided with charity or otherwise. Rather, it is forbidden to give to him if he will use it to facilitate sin, as stated in "Asna al-Matalib" that giving voluntary charity to a transgressor is forbidden if it will aid him in his transgression. It is incumbent upon a person to carefully seek out those who are deserving of his charity from among the people of religion and righteousness. As for one who knows the state of this man, he should advise him and exert his effort to help him towards goodness, while keeping children from sitting with him or mixing with him.
