Is it permissible to pray Asr alone before its time for someone who has prayed Dhuhr and intends to travel?

The majority of scholars stipulated conditions for the validity of combining two prayers by performing them earlier (jama' taqdim), including: the intention to combine at the beginning of the first prayer, and consecution (muwalat) between the two combined prayers. Based on their view, combining prayers is not valid in the described situation due to the absence of these two conditions. Some scholars, a view chosen by Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, held that neither the intention to combine nor consecution is a condition. They reasoned that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, combined prayers at Arafat without commanding the intention to combine, and that stipulating consecution negates the purpose of the concession.
