Is it obligatory for the female questioner to resign from her job, in which her employer delays paying her wages after attempting an indecent act with her, despite her dire need for money and the absence of an alternative?

It is not permissible for a Muslim woman to work in a place where she mixes with men. The prohibition is particularly emphasized in your case due to your exposure to temptation (fitna). Continue to search for another job and supplicate to Allah, for He, the Almighty, says: "And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me - indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided." And: "And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out And will provide for him from where he does not expect." If there is an urgent necessity to continue in the current job, there is no sin, provided that you take precautions against causes of temptation and avoid being alone with a non-mahram (definition) man. As for the employer's delay in paying wages, it is an injustice, and you should strive to collect it by all legitimate means, including threatening to escalate the matter to the responsible authorities.
