Is intense fear of death, to the point of refusing to enter Paradise if the price is death, considered sorcery or the evil eye?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

It is not within our purview to diagnose conditions and determine whether their cause is magic or the evil eye. However, we advise against the obsession with being afflicted, as the matter may not be magic or the evil eye. Fear of death is natural because it is a calamity, and remembering it is religiously مطلوب, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Remember often the destroyer of pleasures"; for it hastens repentance, contentment, and diligence in worship. Scholars have condemned disliking it if the reason is indulgence in pleasures. Its remedy is to contemplate the reward in the Hereafter and the insignificance of this world, and that death will certainly meet you. Consulting psychiatrists is also an option.
