What is the ruling on praying in front of a mirror in which the worshiper sees his reflection, and what is the ruling on praying in front of a television when its picture is visible and its sound is muted?

Praying in front of a mirror or a television that is turned on is considered among the disliked acts in prayer (makroohaat) that cause distraction, but it does not invalidate the prayer. The intensity of distraction increases with the television. Umar and Uthman, may Allah be pleased with them, disliked praying in front of someone who faces you and whom you can see, due to the preoccupation it causes the heart. The dislike of looking at that which distracts is supported by the hadith of Aishah concerning the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, when he prayed in a printed garment and it distracted him, so he ordered it to be exchanged.
