Is what the neighbors do—harm, defamation, and false accusations—considered a trial from Allah?

If there are people who harm you and accuse you falsely, they bear a great sin for committing slander, as stated in His — the Almighty’s — saying: "And those who harm believing men and believing women for [sins] they have not committed have certainly borne slander and manifest sin." You must be patient and supplicate, especially with the supplication: "O Allah, we place You before them and seek refuge in You from their evils." Seek the help of some wise people to repel their harm, and if it serves the greater good, refer their matter to the responsible authorities. If they do not cease harming you, then seek another place where you can find righteous people to accompany and cooperate with in righteousness and piety, for the earth of Allah is vast.
