Is it permissible for a husband and wife to hold each other's hands while walking in the street?

A husband and wife must observe modesty and decorum in public, especially if they are role models. Holding a wife's hand in public is originally permissible, and it might even be required for a valid reason. However, the prevailing custom of the place they live in should be taken into consideration. If it is customary among people of integrity, then there is no harm in it. Otherwise, it is not permissible if it compromises one's integrity. Attention must also be paid not to imitate the actions of the immoral in the way they hold hands.
