Is it permissible for a woman suffering from chronic epilepsy, who uses psychiatric medications that cause her distress, headaches, and a feeling of heaviness in her head, which compelled her to cut her hair, to wear a wig only on occasions outside the family?

It is permissible to use a wig if it is to cover a defect, such as lack of hair or baldness. Some scholars have permitted it for the removal of a defect, citing as evidence what the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, allowed for one whose nose was cut off: to make a nose of gold. However, if it is for beautification and extension, then this is not permissible.
