What are the sayings of the Four Schools of Thought regarding the salutation of the Sacred Mosque (Al-Masjid Al-Haram)? Is it the circumambulation (Tawaf) or two Rak'ahs of prayer? And what is the most preponderant opinion? And what is the authenticity of the Hadith: "The salutation of the House (Al-Bayt) is circumambulation"?

The situations of those entering the Grand Mosque are divided into two categories:

1. Those entering with the intention of performing Tawaf: They should begin with Tawaf, and it is not prescribed for them to perform the prayer of greeting the mosque (Tahiyyat al-Masjid) before it, unless there is an impediment, such as extreme crowding. 2. Those entering with the intention of praying, sitting, or attending a lesson: It is recommended for them to perform two rak'ahs as a greeting to the mosque, based on the generality of the hadith: "When one of you enters the mosque, he should not sit until he prays two rak'ahs."

As for the hadith, "The greeting of the House is Tawaf," it has no basis in the Sunnah.
