To maintain rectitude, one must constantly reflect upon the names and attributes of Allah, His greatness, upon death and what comes after it, and upon Paradise and Hell. One should also associate with righteous people, observe the obligatory prayers, increase in supererogatory acts, strive against the self, constantly repent, and persistently supplicate and implore Allah for steadfastness.
