Did the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, supplicate against Mu'awiyah, saying, "There will appear to you from this pass a man who will die not upon my religion"?

There are two Hadiths related to this meaning:

1. The first Hadith (The invalid one): What has been transmitted from the narrations of the Rafidah, attributed to Abdullah ibn Umar, that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "A man will appear before you who will die not upon my Sunnah," and then Mu'awiyah appeared, and then the Prophet (peace be upon him) cursed Mu'awiyah and his son. This Hadith is invalid and fabricated by the consensus of the scholars of Hadith. It has no known chain of transmission and is a clear lie. Abdullah ibn Umar used to praise Mu'awiyah and not disparage him.

2. The second Hadith (The authentic one): What Muslim narrated from Ibn Abbas that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said to Mu'awiyah: "May Allah never fill his stomach." This Hadith is not considered a dispraise of Mu'awiyah; rather, it is considered among his virtues for several reasons:

It proves Mu'awiyah's closeness to the Prophet (peace be upon him), as he was one of his scribes.

The supplication against him concerned worldly matters, not religious or Hereafter matters.

This supplication falls under the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "O Allah! Whomever I have cursed or insulted, make that a purification and a mercy for him." It is from what occurs from human tongues unintentionally, and scholars have made it one of Mu'awiyah's merits because it became a supplication for purification and mercy in his favor.
