Who are "Al-Waqi'ah" and what is meant by this group?

The Waqifa are those who do not state whether the Qur'an is the word of God or created. Imam Ahmad said concerning them: "Whoever among them is eloquent in speech, he is a Jahmi. And whoever is not eloquent, but is an ignorant simpleton, then the argument should be established against him. If he repents and believes that it is the uncreated word of God, otherwise, he is worse than the Jahmiyya."
