Will compensation for abandoning the unlawful be in this world or the hereafter, and will it be immediate or after a period of time?

This statement is not a Prophetic Hadith (definition), but rather it is narrated from some of the Salaf (early Muslims), and its meaning is sound due to the authenticity of the Hadith: "Indeed, you will not abandon anything for the sake of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, except that Allah will replace it with something better for you than it." And the compensation will be as Allah wills, in this world or the Hereafter, or in both. The servant should have a good opinion of Allah and know that Allah's choice is better than his own choice for himself.
