What is my duty towards my father who has apostatized and is publishing misleading pictures and videos on Facebook, knowing that he resides in Morocco where the Hadd punishment for apostasy is not applied? And must I report him, and to whom? And is it permissible for me not to advise him if I fear that he will lead me astray with his words? And am I sinful when I feel hatred towards him?

Whoever learns of a Muslim’s (or a parent’s) apostasy must advise them and explain their error. If they persist in their apostasy, their case must be brought to the ruler to purify society. This is especially true if the apostate openly declares their apostasy and invites others to it, due to the magnitude of its corruption. If one is in a country where hudud punishments are not applied, and they fear for their own safety if they advise them, then they should not advise them. Instead, they can seek out someone capable of advising them, or send links to specialized pages that refute their doubts. There is no sin upon them for disliking them; rather, this is an obligation of hatred for the sake of Allah the Almighty.
