What is the ruling on marrying a person whose wealth was Haram (unlawful), then he repented, and what is the ruling on the wealth he acquired from Haram and with which he bought properties that became his source of income?

A woman should not accept a man as a husband if his earnings are illicit. Some jurisprudential opinions state that if a father marries his daughter to a dissolute man or one whose wealth is illicit, she has the right to refuse the marriage. However, if the man repents sincerely from illicit earnings, there is no objection to accepting him as a husband, for repentance erases what came before it. As for wealth acquired through illicit means, it must be returned to its rightful owners if they are known. Otherwise, it should be spent on general Muslim welfare projects or given as charity to the poor. A poor person who possesses such wealth is permitted to take from it what suffices for his and his family's needs. The apartments he purchased with this wealth are his property, and he is permitted to benefit from them.
