The prophetic hadith (definition) regarding its virtue — "Whoever prays Fajr in congregation, then sits remembering Allah until the sun rises, then prays two rak'ahs, will have a reward like that of a complete, complete, complete Hajj and Umrah (definition)" — has differing views on its authenticity, but some scholars have deemed it hasan (definition) (good). Its minimum number of rak'ahs is two, with no limit to its maximum.
