Is money and savings acquired from working in a usurious bank for ten years haram, or is it in exchange for work, effort, and service?

One must be cautious of usury (riba) and of assisting in it. Whoever repents, and still possesses unlawful usurious money, must dispose of it by giving it to the poor and needy or to charitable organizations. However, if he is in dire need of it, like a poor person, he may take from it only what he needs and no more. He may also give it as charity to himself and his family if he is poor.
