What is the ruling for the Dhuhr prayer for one who intentionally missed the Friday prayer without a valid excuse?
It is not permissible to miss Friday prayer without a legitimate Shar'i excuse. Whoever does so has disobeyed Allah Almighty, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace be upon him): "Let people stop neglecting the Friday prayers, or Allah will seal their hearts, and they will then be among the negligent." The warning intensifies if one misses three or more Friday prayers, based on his (peace be upon him) saying: "Whoever leaves three Friday prayers out of negligence, Allah will seal his heart." Scholars have considered missing Friday prayer without an excuse as one of the major sins. If someone misses Friday prayer, they must pray the Dhuhr prayer with the intention of Dhuhr, whether they missed it with or without an excuse. The sin occurs if they miss it without an excuse. Their Dhuhr prayer is valid if they pray it after the Imam's Friday prayer. However, if they pray it before the Imam, it is not valid, and they must repeat it as Dhuhr. They must also repent to Allah Almighty for this sin.
