What is God's ruling concerning a sister who causes problems between her sister and her family out of envy, and a brother who severs ties with his sister, influenced by the words of his envious sister? And what is the ruling concerning a mature son remaining in his parents' house due to his inability to adapt to his new marital home, and is this considered a sin?

Patience and thanking Allah for the tribulation of the hatred of brothers is a great door to servitude. Maintaining kinship ties is obligatory even in the face of estrangement and abuse; it is not a reward. He who maintains ties with estranged kin is as if "he is feeding them hot ashes," and he will have a supporter from Allah. Breaking kinship ties and backbiting are major sins, and the listener to backbiting is a partner to the speaker. One must be patient and take Yusuf (peace be upon him) as an example in forgiveness and pardon. If maintaining ties with them results in harm to one's religion or worldly affairs, then there is no impediment to beautiful avoidance of them. Marriage is a woman's right and not an injustice to her son, even if he is far away, provided kinship ties are maintained.
