Will the prophets be questioned in their graves, and are such questions permissible?

The preponderant view is that prophets are not questioned in their graves, as stated in Durr al-Mukhtar: "The most correct opinion is that prophets are not questioned... meaning in their graves." When Shihab al-Ramli was asked about this, he replied that they are not questioned, as mentioned in Nihayat al-Muhtaj: "The most correct opinion is that prophets are not questioned, because a non-prophet is questioned about the Prophet (peace be upon him), so how can he be questioned about himself?" Al-Fawakih al-Dawani states that believers are tried (questioned) except for those for whom it has been reported that they are not questioned, such as the prophets. Ibn al-Qayyim mentioned in Kitab al-Ruh that the most apparent view is that prophets are not questioned, because they are more deserving of this exemption than a martyr of battle, who is safe from the tribulation of the grave.
