What about the widespread debate within mosques these days?

Debate is religiously reprehensible, even outside the mosque, because it is often accompanied by raised voices, discord among the debaters, and their separation. Allah Almighty said: (And do not dispute, lest you lose courage and your strength depart), and it was reported: "No people went astray after being guided except that they were given to disputation." Raising voices in mosques is prohibited, even if by reciting the Quran, so how much more so is blameworthy debate. Therefore, efforts must be made to change this reprehensible act with wisdom, good counsel, and gentleness.
