The answer

There is no religious impediment to a woman working if it adheres to Islamic guidelines, regardless of whether her husband works or not. However, it is more fitting for a man to go out to work and earn, and more fitting for a woman to remain at home to manage its affairs and raise children, given her suitable physical and psychological constitution for this. The husband's guardianship might be affected if the wife is the one providing financially. We advise the wife to remain at home and the husband to go out to work, especially since most women's work in non-Islamic countries does not adhere to Islamic guidelines, such as mixing (of genders) and other issues. A woman is not permitted to engage in such work except out of necessity or severe need.
