Is the meaning of Allah's saying: "And that you take in marriage two sisters simultaneously" (Quran 4:23) that it is impermissible to have them both in one house while marriage to them both is permissible, or does the prohibition comprehensively include taking two sisters in marriage?

It is forbidden to combine two sisters in marriage according to the Qur'an, Sunnah, and scholarly consensus. The intent is not to combine them under the marital bond of one man. If a man divorces his wife with a revocable divorce, it is permissible for him to marry her sister after her 'iddah (waiting period) expires. However, if he divorces her with an irrevocable divorce, there is a difference of opinion among scholars: some prohibit him from marrying her sister until her 'iddah ends, while others permit it.
