Is it permissible to combine (in marriage) two daughters of one man from different mothers, knowing the prohibition of combining two sisters?
It is not permissible to combine two sisters in marriage, whether they are full sisters, or half-sisters through the father or through the mother. This is based on the general meaning of Allah's Almighty saying: (And that you take [in marriage] two sisters simultaneously, except for what has already occurred). The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade marrying a woman concurrently with her paternal aunt or her maternal aunt, and combining two sisters. If a man who embraced Islam already has two sisters as wives, he must choose one of them.
