Is it obligatory for the congregant to perform the prostration of forgetfulness if he bows before the imam in congregational prayer?

If the congregant precedes the Imam in bowing unintentionally, there is nothing upon the congregant. If it is intentional, their prayer is valid, but it is recommended for them to return to the standing position and bow with the Imam. They are sinful for their action.
