Is it true that the day of a believer's death is their Day of Resurrection, and that the clock of time stops for them? What is the torment of the grave, and does it continue until the Hour, or for a limited time?

The grave is the first stage of the Hereafter; it is either a garden from the gardens of Paradise for the believer or a pit from the pits of Hellfire for the disbeliever. The blessings and torment of the grave continue until the Day of Judgment. As for the disobedient, their matter is with Allah, and they may be tormented according to their sins. What is meant by "whoever dies, his resurrection has commenced" is his witnessing of his recompense, whether good or evil. The narration transmitted with this wording is fabricated (mawdu').
