My husband is traveling, and I object to his travels. What is the religious ruling on this?

Much has been said by scholars regarding the determination of the period of a husband's absence from his wife without her consent, specifying it as six months, based on what was narrated from Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). This matter has been treated as a matter of ijtihad (independent reasoning) that changes with the change of time, place, and circumstances. Therefore, we believe that the determination of the period should be left to the spouses, as they are the most knowledgeable about their own circumstances. If they agree on a specific period, then there is no objection to the travel, whether the time exceeds six months or is less. However, if they disagree, then the matter must be referred to the judge to determine this period according to the circumstances of the spouses.
