What is the difference in meaning between verse 62 of Surah Al-Baqarah and verse 69 of Surah Al-Ma'idah, and what is the divine wisdom behind the linguistic variation and word order?

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah indicates that all messengers and their nations were upon Islam, and that everyone before us from among the people of felicity is a believer. He cites Quranic verses to explain that the precedence and delay in mentioning terms, such as "the Sabians," may be due to several reasons, including: earlier time, or rank, or focusing on distinguishing between religions on the Day of Resurrection. He notes that the Sabians were mentioned with elevation [in status] even though Christians are superior to them, because the Sabians are older in time, and the elevation came to be an anaphora on the locus in the wording, to indicate that they are delayed in rank even if they are brought forward in time and wording. He mentioned that Allah Almighty will distinguish between all religions on the Day of Resurrection, and that whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day and performs righteous deeds from among the mentioned religions will be among the felicitous.
