What is Islam's stance on recording daily diaries of personal events and occurrences in one's surroundings?

There is no harm in a person recording their life's memoirs, as long as they do not contain anything forbidden, such as recording forbidden acts or disparaging someone's honor. Some scholars have indeed recorded their life's memoirs, such as Al-Shafi'i, Al-Suyuti, Ibn Battuta, Al-Qaradawi, Kishk, Al-Nadwi, and Al-Shanqeeti.
