Is the use of men's perfumes from international brands that contain alcohol in their composition considered a violation of Islamic law, and is it permissible to use alcohol-free types of these perfumes, and are they considered pure?

Scholars have differed on the ruling regarding alcoholic perfumes due to the possibility of them being intoxicating and impure. The preponderant opinion is that the alcohol found in perfumes is intoxicating and impure, like other liquid intoxicants, based on Allah's saying: "O you who have believed, indeed intoxicants, gambling, [sacrificing to] stone altars, and divining arrows are but defilement from the work of Satan, so avoid them that you may be successful." Therefore, it is not permissible to use alcoholic perfumes unless they undergo a complete transformation during manufacturing, thereby removing their impurity. As for perfumes labeled as alcohol-free, the default ruling is that their use is permissible until proven otherwise.
