What will be the state, on the Day of Resurrection, of one who performs both deeds of the people of Hellfire and deeds of the people of Paradise?

It is reported in the Sahihayn (Bukhari and Muslim) that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "By Him, besides Whom there is no other god, verily one of you may perform the deeds of the people of Paradise until there is but an arm's length between him and it, then the preordained (decree) overtakes him, and he performs the deeds of the people of the Fire, and thus enters it. And verily one of you may perform the deeds of the people of the Fire until there is but an arm's length between him and it, then the preordained (decree) overtakes him, and he performs the deeds of the people of Paradise, and thus enters it." So, whoever has the preordained decree overtake him and his life concludes with the deeds of the people of Paradise will enter it, and whoever has the preordained decree overtake him and his life concludes with the deeds of the people of the Fire will enter it. Entering the Fire may be due to disbelief, in which case one remains there eternally, or due to disobedience, in which case one does not remain there eternally. Ibn Rajab mentioned that deeds are judged by their conclusions, and that a bad ending may be due to a hidden inner flaw in the servant, while a good ending may be due to a hidden good quality that prevails in the servant in the latter part of their life. Endings are the inheritance of beginnings, and for this reason, the Salaf (pious predecessors) feared bad endings.
