Should I perform the Hajj obligation or save money for my mentally ill son, who may commit suicide if I do not provide him with the necessary money for his future and life?

Scholars have agreed upon the obligation of Hajj for the able-bodied, adult Muslim. If spending on one's child conflicts with saving money for Hajj, then spending on the child takes precedence, due to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "It is enough sin for a person to withhold sustenance from those he is responsible for." As for saving money for a son's future, it is not an excuse to waive the obligation of Hajj, unless the lack of saving would lead to the son's perdition. In such a case, this problem must be addressed first, because preserving an inviolable life takes precedence over Hajj.
