What is the ruling on following religious accounts on Twitter that publish inappropriate images to attract followers, knowing that one may also follow other accounts that contain forbidden images? And is it permissible to follow forty accounts with the click of a button, despite the difficulty of verifying their images, or to follow accounts and then unfollow them after a day or two?

One must not follow those who post forbidden pictures, and it is not permissible for da'wah (Islamic propagation) messages to include anything forbidden, because nothing equals safety. As for following someone whose pictures you are unaware of, if something forbidden appears and you delete it, there is no harm. The default is to assume the safety of Muslims' conduct, although selecting those to follow who are further from doubt is better.
