Is it obligatory to perform ghusl after hijama, or is wudu sufficient, and what is the interpretation of the hadith: "He [the Prophet] used to command ghusl for janaba, hijama, washing the deceased, and on Friday"?

Scholars differ regarding the ruling on performing ghusl (full ritual bath) after cupping. It is considered mustahabb (recommended) by some Shafi'is and by the Hanafis. It is not considered mustahabb by the Hanbalis, according to the soundest opinions. The Malikis deem it sufficient to wash only the site of the cupping, and ghusl is not obligatory thereafter. Furthermore, cupping does not invalidate ablution (wudu') according to the majority of scholars.
