Is it obligatory to recite the supplication for concluding the Qur’an, found in the Mus'haf, immediately after finishing the recitation of the surahs? Reciting a supplication (du'a') upon completing the Qur'an is not an obligatory act in Islamic law. However, it is generally permissible. It has been narrated that Anas ibn Malik used to gather his family and supplicate for them upon completing the Qur'an. There is no specific supplication prescribed for this occasion; rather, it is preferable to supplicate with the proven prayers found in the Qur'an and Sunnah. It is also permissible to supplicate for any personal needs one desires.
