Is it permissible to hunt with a slingshot and metal balls? If the bird dies with blood flowing, is it considered carrion (mawqūdhah) and therefore forbidden to eat? Is this hunting method forbidden because of it? And is it permissible to trade in forbidden game?

If the pellets used in hunting are sharp and cause the game to bleed, then hunting with them is permissible, and the game is not considered to have been killed by a blunt instrument. However, if the pellets are not sharp and kill the game by their weight, then it is not permissible to eat the game unless it is caught alive and properly slaughtered. Hunting with something that kills by its weight and not by its sharpness is disliked. It is permissible to sell hunting tools as long as they are not used for something unlawful.
