What is the meaning of Al-Hanifiyyah, and are there still followers of the religion of Abraham (peace be upon him) today?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Al-Hanifiyyah is the religion of monotheism and submission to Allah the Almighty, and the rejection of polytheism and disbelief. It is the creed of Abraham, peace be upon him, with which Prophet Muhammad, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him, was sent. Many verses in the Holy Quran describe Abraham as a Hanif, a Muslim, which confirms that Al-Hanifiyyah is Islam itself. Remnants of Al-Hanifiyyah existed among the Arabs before Islam, as is evident from the story of Zayd ibn Amr ibn Nufayl.
