ما معنى الحنفية؟

The Hanifiyya is the creed of Islam that Abraham (peace be upon him) and the prophets followed. Allah commanded His Prophet and the believers to follow it. Allah Almighty says: "So follow the religion of Abraham, inclining to truth; and he was not of the polytheists" (Quran 3:95). A Hanif is a Muslim who turns away from polytheism towards the monotheism of Allah. It is a religion of ease and facility, free from extremism or negligence. Hanifiyya also refers to one of the schools of thought of the Ahl al-Sunnah, named after Abu Hanifa al-Nu'man ibn Thabit.
