What is the ruling concerning those who followed the Hanifiyyah before Islam, and are they considered among the people of the Fatrah?

Hanifism is the religion of Abraham, peace be upon him, and it is pure monotheism for God without associating partners with Him. Zayd ibn Amr ibn Nufayl was one of the Hanifs, and he sought the true religion after rejecting Judaism and Christianity. Two of their scholars informed him that a Hanif is one who follows the religion of Abraham, who was neither a Jew nor a Christian, and worships God alone. Zayd ibn Amr bore witness that he was upon the religion of Abraham; he rejected polytheism and revived the buried alive (female infants). He passed away before the Prophetic mission, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, conveyed greetings to him after his death because he died upon the religion of Abraham. This indicates the salvation of everyone who died upon Hanifism before Islam.
