Is it permissible for the husband to neglect his wife—in terms of spending on her or contacting her and not answering her calls—during the period of the marriage contract, before consummation, due to his continuous desire to talk about intercourse and imagine it with her, knowing that she may sometimes be busy or tired?

The husband is not obligated to contact his wife or respond to her calls, and he does not sin by refraining from doing so unless it is a form of abandonment without a legitimate Shariah justification. However, the husband should not avoid contacting his wife. It is better for both of them to avoid discussing matters of intimacy before marriage, as discussing them over the phone is not secure. The priority should be to expedite the marriage so that each spouse can be a source of chastity for the other.
