How is it that food does not diminish if Satan eats with us when we do not say "Bismillāh" before eating?

The devil's participation with humans in their food has been established if the name of Allah is not mentioned over it, as narrated in authentic hadiths from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. The devil is able to eat food over which the name of Allah has not been mentioned, and thus shares it with humans. The hadiths have indicated that the devil is present with a person in all their affairs, even during their meals.

Scholars believe that the devil's eating is a reality, not a metaphor, as reason does not prevent it, and Islamic law has affirmed it. A Muslim should not delve into the "how" or the "nature" of the devil's eating, because that is from the unseen, which cannot be comprehended by reason, and the revelation has not informed us of its specifics. What has been brought by the sacred law must be accepted without delving into the details of the unseen that have not been clarified to us.
