Is a gaze that involves surprise at the action of a person loudly reciting adhkar (remembrances of God) in the street, followed by observing the reactions of passersby, and then feeling remorse and self-reproach for that gaze, considered a form of disparagement or mockery that reaches the level of derision, especially given the presence of waswasah (whisperings/obsessive thoughts) in this regard?

What was mentioned is not mockery, and these whispers must be abandoned, the mind diverted from them, and one must not yield to Satan regarding them. For whispers affect everyone who turns to Allah, because Satan is a highway robber who tries to prevent the servant from walking towards Allah. It was said to some of the early Muslims that Jews and Christians do not suffer from whispers, and he replied: "They spoke the truth, for what does Satan do with a ruined house?"
