What is the difference between: Al-Hamd (praise) and Ash-Shukr (gratitude), Al-Bukhl (stinginess) and Ash-Shuh (avarice), Al-Farah (joy) and As-Sa'adah (happiness)?

The difference between 'Al-Hamd' (praise) and 'Al-Shukr' (gratitude) is that 'Al-Hamd' can be for a favor received or for no favor received, whereas 'Al-Shukr' is only for a favor received. 'Al-Hamd' is more general than 'Al-Shukr,' though they are closely related. As for 'Al-Bukhl' (stinginess), it is the opposite of generosity, while 'Al-Shuh' (avarice) is intense stinginess combined with eagerness; thus, 'Al-Shuh' is more extreme in its stinginess. As for 'Al-Farah' (joy), it is happiness and the opposite of sadness, and 'Al-Sa'adah' (felicity) is the opposite of misery.
